I participated in a challenge run by The Knowledge Society, where teams worked to create a solution to a problem statement given by an outside organization. For this year’s challenge, we received a problem statement from a TikTok executive on how they can make the platform better suited and more attractive for educational contet creators.

I built a machine learning model that takes in a particular month and hour an returns how many watts of fossil fuels the state o Pennsylvania needs per hour to meet demands. This allows for power grids to use more clean electricity and only use fossil fuels when necessary.

Using image classification, I built an AI model that can identify whether a wind turbine is damaged or not damaged based off of an image. By using this, wind turbine’s damage can be identified faster and maintenance can become more efficient

This model takes in 8 parameters- distance to solar noon, temperature, wind direction, wind speed, sky cover, humidity, average wind speed, and average pressure - and returns an estimate of the amount of electricity a solar cell will generate in a three hour time period.
